Skagit Speedway made a triumphant return to the Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly program in 2022, a season that also saw the debut of the Skagit Aggregates Survive The 55 event. This unique event, with its grand prize of $10,000. Rick Smith, a familiar face at the Alger, Washington facility, has a history of success in the Late Model, Sprint Car, and Friesen Performance IMCA Modified ranks.

In fact, he was the first driver to win a sanctioned championship since the facility's last time had IMCA, in 1997. In this interview, the Mount Vernon-based driver talks about how IMCA returning to Skagit is a win/win, his family's racing story, why he sports the #6W, his chances at winning the 55, and more!
