Description

Andres Guadamuz is an academic interested in the ownership implications of new technologies; in particular he researches intellectual property issues in User Generated Content and the so-called Web 2.0 phenomenon.

He delivered a presentation in which he looked at the creation of urban spaces within so-called virtual worlds, such as the popular environment known as Second Life. He asked about the ownership issues that surround the creation of intangible property, putting forward the idea that we already have legal tools to think about virtual existence.
