CUNA Mutual Workers are Going on Strike. Why?
Description
CMG United (OPEIU 39), the Union representing more than 400 employees at Madison-based insurance company CUNA Mutual Group, will be on going on strike this Friday, May 19th. In April, 92% of members voted in favor of allowing the Union’s bargaining committee to call a strike if deemed necessary. Despite mediation, the bargaining committee and CUNA Mutual were unable to reach an agreement and workers are now heading to the picket line.
Joining us to discuss the key issues and concerns are Sarah Larsen and Will Roberts. More information about the Union and strike can be found here.
The strike will begin at 8am tomorrow, Friday, May 19th at CUNA Mutual Group’s corporate HQ 5910 Mineral Pt. Road Madison, WI .
Sarah Larsen is an Administrative Assistant at CUNA Mutual Group and a member of the OPEIU 39 bargaining committee.
Will Roberts is a Multimedia Specialist and part of the union’s contract action team.
