Cancer survivor, Wes Jones, inspires us to rethink what matters most.
Description
In this episode, we welcome Wes Jones, who shares his inspiring story about his journey with cancer. We start the episode by hearing how as a 23 year old newly engaged man at the onset of his engineering career, was side swiped with the diagnosis of Ewing's Sarcoma*.
His story walks us through not only the physical stress that the cancer brought upon him, but the perhaps even more weighty, the mental and emotional burden he and his support team had to endure. Wes shares his incredible perspective of how his cancer – however brutal an awakening it has been in his life – has brought him a deeper appreciation and purpose, as well as greater love and presence in his relationships.
He shares with us:
- some of the lessons learned from his cancer experience (for those that are going through cancer or have gone through it... this is a must hear!)
- advice from a cancer patients perspective on how you can help someone you love going through cancer
- overall lessons and take-aways we can learn from
He has already inspired the two of us, and hopefully you too, to find joy, peace and meaning in your everyday.
As we move into the holiday season, we want to remind you, and inspire you to show for yourself and others.
Please give this one a listen (don’t forget the tissues!) as it will make you want to drop everything and SHOW UP TO SHINE for yourself and others.
*Ewing’s Sarcoma is a cancer that forms in bone or soft tissue, and typically occurs in children or young adults.
