Born and raised in Greece, Kleopatra Sofroniou studied philosophy and piano in Athens and later continued her musical education in Stuttgart. Realising that a career as a concert performer was not for her, she moved into journalism and from there into the music business. She joined Universal Music / Deutsche Grammophon in 2005, starting in catalogue product management and later running major international campaigns for artists such as Cecilia Bartoli, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Max Richter. Since 2023 she has been General Manager Class at Deutsche Grammophon.
