In Wichita, the moon rises at five forty-six PM, under mostly clear skies. This December full moon, also known as the drift clearing moon and frost exploding trees moon, is the third consecutive supermoon, appearing up to fourteen percent larger and thirty percent brighter. Additionally, the Geminid meteor shower, one of the strongest of the year, will peak on December thirteenth and fourteenth, offering over one hundred meteors per hour in dark locations.
