Description
At the Albany Common Council's meeting on December 15, a public hearing took place on a proposed new transfer station and landfill. The old location will be full by 2027 so the need for a new site is urgent. However the proposal has met some opposition from environmental groups and from the current residents of the property the city wants to use. Here are some excerpts from the hearing.
