Corn futures experienced a modest uptick on Tuesday, with December contracts gaining a quarter of a cent and later contracts rising by two and a half cents. The national average cash corn price also inched up by a quarter of a cent to three dollars and eighty-eight cents. The market will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, reopening on Friday. Export sales data showed a four-week low of one point three two seven million metric tons sold in the week of October ninth. Managed money held a net short position of one hundred ninety-one thousand fifty-five contracts in corn futures and options, an increase of nearly forty-nine thousand contracts from the previous week. South Korean importers purchased at least three hundred twenty-four thousand metric tons of corn in overnight tenders, with at least sixty-eight thousand metric tons expected from the United States. Brazilian corn exports for November are projected to be six point one one million metric tons, a slight decrease from the previous weeks estimates.
