Description

Listen to Sermon

NOTE: These questions are not the focus of your Gospel Community. They are just tools to help you reflect on and apply the truth of God’s Word into your lives. Let the focus of your group be walking together in joyful worship of God, sharing your lives, ministering to each other week-to-week through encouragement and speaking the truth in love.

1.) Courageous friends are those who can help us remember that God still sees, that His ears still hear, and that His face is still there (1 Peter 3:12 ). Can you think of a time when God felt very remote to you? Was it for any of the reasons mentioned in the sermon:
==> suffering
==> frustrated expectations of how you thought God would work
==> being surrounded by half-hearted religion
==> lack of a prayer life and prolonged spiritual infancy
Was there a friend in your life who had a confidence in God and intimacy with God that you desperately needed in that time? Do you have the capacity to be that kind of friend?

2.) Jesus said that “everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled” (Luke 24:44 ). Jesus says that the whole Bible points to Him, finds fulfillment in Him, and only matters because of Him. Are you satisfied with the level of affection you feel for Jesus? If not, how could you strengthen that relationship?
