Destroying History - Hard Shots
Description
With all of the controversy over leaving up or tearing down statues, we decided to weigh in.
Part of what we look at in this episode are the reasons that many of those statues were put up to begin with and whether or not moving them to museums is really an act of destroying or hiding from our history as many have claimed. We’ll also discuss what people’s expressed motivations are in removing them or keeping them up as well as this whole situations impact on a heightened level of national unrest? It’s easy to see that people on both sides of this issue are upset, but is it really over statues or have we reached a point of unrest that any action by anyone is perceived as some sort of threat that requires retaliation?
