Diets: why it's time to ditch them
Description
This week, we’re talking about the D-word: diets. While dieting can sometimes result in quicker physical weight loss, over time it can negatively impact your overall health and even how you feel about yourself. That’s why we want to knock down the narrative around diet culture and help you find a route to long-term, healthy weight loss with no dieting involved.
Tune in to our host Helen and co-hosts Dr Sam and nutritionist Ruth as they discuss why we should ditch diet culture, and how. They’ll share helpful tips on changing your relationship with food, what to do if you get stuck in a yo-yo diet pattern and remind you that measuring your success is about more than just the numbers – healthy, sustainable weight loss could lead to less joint pain, better sleep, more energy, and even lower blood pressure.
Dr Sam is Lead GP for Lifestyle Medicine at Boots Online Doctor, as well as a coach and mentor, author, and nutritional and yoga therapist. Ruth Taylor is a BANT nutritionist and registered nurse, who works alongside Sam on the Boots Online Doctor weight loss team.
