Director of Alien: Romulus claims it's "unfair"
Update: 2024-08-21
Description
The primary complaint leveled at Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" and "Alien: Covenant" upon its debut was that they fell short of the sci-fi thrills found in "Alien" and "Aliens," two of the greatest movies ever made on Afdah tv. Fede Alvarez's "Alien: Romulus" will satisfy anyone who finds those films too philosophical and not enough acidic alien spit. The film has so many references to the entire series that at times it feels like extra weight on this vessel. Fortunately, "Romulus" survives thanks to Alvarez's deft use of timing and setting, as well as his evident passion for the series. It's slimy, tight, and enjoyable. Additionally, it is not quite as grandiose as other of the movies.
