Disrupt or Die: Eps 001 - Dylan Soh One Kind Block

At 13 Dylan Soh started his first business with his invention the 'GIYstick' which reuses plastic bottles and upcycled fabric to make any pot self-watering. This was Soh's first crowdfunding campaign and he raised $25,000 on Kickstarter.
Now, at 17, Dylan has launch another invention into a startup business called the One Kind Block, "The world's first LEGO-like hydroponic unit designed to make cities fertile by adapting to your windows, balconies, corridor and walls." His current Kickstarter campaign (this is the second round) has raised over $40,000 USD and is still going. Galileo was fortunate to have Dylan teach our students about crowdfunding in 2020 and share his knowledge with our budding young entrepreneurs.

Dylan shares the challenges of using crowdfunding with the increase in products on platforms like Kickstarter. He explains how he uses local resources to prototype and produce OKB.
