Do We Have Free Will?
Description
Do we have free will, or do we have a fate that we just change? In this episode, we look at the question of free will from a scriptural perspective.
Before you go, we must know that he created the wicked for the day of evil:
Pro_16:4 YAHUAH hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
These are the vessels of wrath:
Rom 9:22 What if YAHUAH, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
And so an important thing to note about him is that he hardens whom he will, so as to achieve his will.
Rom 9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
So there are exceptions whose free will are taken away from them and their hearts will be hardened. This is YAHUAH'S prerogative as the master potter:
Rom 9:19-21 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against YAHUAH? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
So for the rest of us who have access to his mercy, do we have free will?
We use precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little, there a little to unravel the mystery.
