Dr Gabor Maté on Joe Rogan, Any Beef is Good Beef and WE ARE ALREADY FREE feat Nathan Maingard
Description
Podcast I’m Enjoying
“It’s not the genes that get passed down, it’s the trauma…the brain can change if you treat it right.”
These are the words of one of my favourite human beings on one of my other favourite human beings’ podcasts.
This is one of the most important podcasts you might listen to. Joe Rogan sat down with Dr Gabor Maté to discuss his new book, The Myth of Normal. I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy. Even more so, I will be having a conversation on my podcast/youtube channel with Gabor’s son, Daniel Maté, which will be released next month. Stay tuned.
Something I’ve Been Obsessing About
Any Beef Is Good Beef
You do not have to be the perfect keto/carnivore to heal and thrive. I posted this Reel on Instagram expressing my thoughts on the matter of influencers telling you that you need to buy their organ supplements or buy only grass-fed/finished beef to be part of their realm.
However, living in Europe the past two years has taught me how to eat mostly meat on a budget. That often means McDonald’s or Burger King patties with bacon and cheese as a meal when travelling. That often means eating mostly cheap ground beef and saving the ribeyes for the odd day here and there.
And as I’ve said before, and it’s always worth repeating: chances are, it’s not McDonald’s beef that is making you fat and sick. What is making you fat and sick is the other stuff: the processed bread, potato chips cooked in artery-clogging seed oils and the milkshakes and sodas that have illegal amounts of sugar. Eating less-than-perfect beef without all the added crap is almost always better than a pick-me-up snack filled with unnecessary sugar and seed oils.

I recently sat down with Mr Nathan Mainard. This was one of my favourite conversations I’ve had on my podcast/youtube channel. Give it the time it needs.
