E29: Intuitive Eating and Reparenting How I Eat as an Ex-Vegan and Ex-Dieter
Description
It has taken me 34 years to learn what my child was born into this world knowing: how to eat intuitively. And honestly, I am so darn proud of myself! Coming from a lifetime of dieting and body image struggles, I didn’t think it was possible for me to have a loving relationship with my body and food. I am thrilled to be where I am today and I am excited to share my story with you.
Over the last few years I’ve received a lot of curiosities about my diet and if it has changed. The answer is yes. It has changed many times in many ways. And I trust that it will continue to evolve, as I do. Many of you started following me during my 7 years of eating a strictly plant-based / vegan diet, which is no longer a diet I follow. I asked you all to send all the questions you've had in, and I believe I address all the ones I have received in this podcast.
Today on this podcast, Bridgette Wolleat joins me to help tell my story and share her knowledge on the topic of intuitive eating. We will be covering the following:
What is intuitive eating?
How did I move from a life of dieting to intuitive eating?
What has changed about how and what I eat?
When did these changes happen?
How have they felt for me?
How did I transition from a plant-based / vegan diet to eating animal products and meat?
How did I deal with the emotional aspects of transitioning away from veganism?
Why did I choose veganism?
Why do I not choose to eat a vegan diet now?

This podcast is alive thanks to the incredible journey I have experienced parenting my now 3-year-old child, while simultaneously immersed in the deep work of healing and developing within my own internal system. It is my belief that our children offer us the portal to the growth we have been asking for, on an individual and collective level. The intention of this podcast is to offer insight into topics and themes that can help us evolve in harmony alongside our children, with unconditional love and support for us all.
In season 2 of this podcast we are diving into topics related to attachment parenting, holistic, heart-led parenting, unconditional love, re-parenting ourselves, healing trauma bonds, and aiming to support ourselves re-emerging as full, integrated beings, while supporting our children in maintaining this same integrity within themselves and connection to their own system and intuitive knowing.
Season 1 of this podcast took you along my journey of an autonomous, non-medical pregnancy and Freebirth, with a glimpse into our postpartum life.
