Back in 2022, it was announced that Phase 5 of the MCU would wrap up with an adaptation of Thunderbolts, seeming to be Marvel's answer to Suicide Squad. Very quickly, the team lineup left a lot to be desired, and as production kicked off, not many had faith in it reigniting the MCU. Several months of trailers and an entire movie later, it's safe to say a lot of us ate our words.
