EP061 - Aileen - Embracing challenges through journaling
Description
In this podcast, I had the pleasure to talk with Aileen, a passionate advocate for the transformative power of journaling.
Aileen specialises in gratitude journaling and has dedicated her work to helping people embrace challenges through this powerful practice.
In our conversation Aileen shared her journey into personal development, sparked by struggles with negative self-talk and low self-worth, leading her to discover the profound impact of gratitude journaling on mental well-being.
Throughout our discussion, Aileen emphasised the importance of returning to basics, advocating for pen and paper journaling, especially for young people. This practice, she suggests, allows for deeper reflection and a focus on personal life away from constant digital distractions.
We explored how journaling can provide an antidote to the pervasive culture of comparison fuelled by digital spaces, allowing individuals to center their thoughts on their own experiences and achievements.
A significant portion of our discussion was dedicated to the practical aspects of journaling and overcoming common resistances to adopting the habit.
Aileen shared insightful tips, such as starting small and finding joy in the process, alongside her experience in guiding people through this journey. She reiterated that while journaling might not eliminate life’s challenges, it equips individuals with the resilience to face them from a more positive and empowered headspace.
Aileen's advocacy lies not just in content creation but in guiding individuals to practice consistently, shifting the focus from mere consumption of knowledge to practical application — an essential step to achieving meaningful change.
This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in harnessing the power of journaling to enhance their well-being, build resilience, and navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and positivity.
About Aileen
So many people feel anxious, unhappy or unfulfilled these days. They worry about the future, their mistakes or what goes wrong each day. Aileen found her purpose in creating guided journals that help people feel more positive about themselves and their lives.
Her work was born out of her own challenges. Never feeling good enough led to burnout, depression, and feelings of worthlessness. A simple daily journaling ritual helped Aileen reconnect with her life and feel better about herself over time.
This made her passionate about creating guided journals that help people feel lighter, more joyful and content in their daily lives.
When she is not designing new journals to help you feel happier, you can find her hiking, enjoying nature, practicing yoga, reading, sewing or crocheting, and ... journaling, of course.
