Depression creates a cycle of worry and stress due to chemical imbalances in the brain that require proactive management and consistent daily practices. Accepting a mental health diagnosis and seeking treatment both present challenges, creating a "rock and hard place" situation that requires determination to overcome.

• Depression causes the brain to function differently, leading to constant worry and anxiety
• Chemical imbalances (lack of serotonin) are the primary cause of depression
• Depression often runs in families, making those with family history more susceptible
• Anxiety from depression can become severe enough to require hospitalization
• Morning showers provide essential energy to start the day positively
• Getting 15 minutes of sunlight daily helps improve mood
• 10-15 minutes of daily exercise increases endorphins that affect mood
• Accomplishing at least two goals daily creates momentum and energy
• Breaking large tasks into smaller segments makes them more manageable
