In this episode, Frankie’s producer Rachel Giordano joins her to discuss trusting your intuition and your gut. Rachel asks how you know the difference between intuition and the other voice (or voices) in your head that are familiar and sometimes make us feel bad. Frankie explains she knew when she was young that she was sensitive and was awake to her intuition, to what her gut is telling her. She goes on to explain when you are having a moment you should slow down, breathe and be in the moment to talk out the feeling. Why am I worried? Why am I angry? Why am I doubting? The biggest issue is that people don’t trust the answer from intuition, they don’t trust their gut instinct. Rachel admits when she doesn’t listen to her intuition or gut instinct, she physically gets sick in her gut. Frankie explains science has found most illnesses start in the gut so the brain-gut balance is critical to understand. It may start in the gut but then it spreads to other parts of the body. Frankie says the answer is simple, just have a conversation with that information your brain is telling you. We need to stop shutting down our intuition by blaming other people, be comfortable in the uncomfortableness and ask ourselves the questions. How do I feel? Why am I feeling this way? What is my role in this situation? Once you start to take a time out to hear the answers, it will become easier and easier to tap into your intuition and follow your gut instinct.
