Violence against women is a violation of basic human rights.
In India, more than 30% of women have been subjected to domestic violence at some point in their lives, per the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) data. Everyone has heard of someone amongst their families, friends or acquaintances who has suffered some form of domestic violence, i.e. some form of verbal, physical, sexual or economic abuse. Most people are unaware of their legal rights and are unable to help women come out of this situation.
Therefore, Advocate Pridhi Singla takes us through the laws and rights of victims of domestic violence in a simplified manner so you know how to exercise them.
