Ep 595: David Howard Thornton
Description
PUBLIC VERSION. Actor David Howard Thornton (“Art the Clown” from the TERRIFIER series, STREAM, THE MEAN ONE) joins Adam, Joe, and Arwen in the ArieScope Studio to share his career journey. From a bullied kid growing up in Alabama who realized he had the ability to make people laugh… to becoming a teacher and quickly realizing that he got more fulfillment out of entertaining his students than actually teaching them… to going through a difficult period of hardships that ultimately pushed him to go after his dream of acting rather than playing life safe… to being the understudy for Stefán Karl Stefánsson in “The Grinch” and performing in other small roles… to the literal “flip of a coin” that saw him lose out on one role but gain the opportunity to become the now iconic “Art the Clown”… to his process of transforming into “Art” and how he comes up with many of the characters’ mannerisms based on feel and only once on the actual set… to how his stage experience in theater has made him find “method acting” unnecessary for his own process in his film roles… to what it’s really like on set when he’s shooting such violent sequences and the kill in TERRIFIER 3 that almost made him throw up on set… to getting canned from performing a voice for a children’s show halfway through the season when the producers realized that he was the same actor who played “Art the Clown” in TERRIFIER… to his ongoing prank war with Kane Hodder (“Victor Crowley”) at conventions and the incredible love that fans have shown him at appearances… to his close brush with tragedy during the making of STREAM and specific signs from the universe that have reminded him that he is indeed on the right path… David’s journey to icon status is certainly one for the horror history books! TERRIFIER 3 is in theaters now!
