Description

In episode #62 of 🎙️The Business Case For Women’s Sports, presented by Ally, hear the founding story of the NWSL’s newest expansion team, Bay FC, as told by Leslie Osborne - a former USWNT team player that is now one of the Founding Four members of Bay FC.

Coming to the NWSL in 2024, Bay FC is the first NWSL team in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The team is co-founded by four U.S. Women’s National Team legends—Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner, Danielle Slaton, and Leslie Osborne—in partnership with global investment firm Sixth Street.

This year, Bay FC won one of three coveted bids for NWSL expansion, paying a record $53 million fee to the NWSL which was the most ever paid for a team in the league.

In this episode, hear Leslie and Caroline discuss the journey to get Bay FC started, and Bay FC’s vision to change the face of women’s soccer as we know it.
