Ep. 77 - Motion as Medicine: How Dance Heals with Simone Assboeck
Description
In this episode, Adam sits down with Simone Assboeck, a transformational dance coach, professional performer, and choreographer with over 15 years of experience inspiring people through movement. Originally from Germany, Simone’s journey began in ballroom dance as a child and quickly evolved into an international career. She is a German State Champion, North American Vice Champion, and Show Dance Champion who has competed at the world’s biggest stages—from the Blackpool Dance Festival in the UK to Hustle USA and the International Hustle & Salsa Congress.
Her performances have graced the screen in films like Enchanted, shows like Boardwalk Empire and The TODAY Show, and alongside icons like Marc Anthony and Patrick Swayze. But beyond the spotlight, Simone’s true calling lies in helping others find connection, confidence, and healing through dance. Through her work with DanceTogetherNYC, she guides wedding couples, veterans, and individuals of all backgrounds to use dance as a pathway to self-expression, wellness, and joy.
This conversation explores dance as medicine, the discipline behind mastery, and how motion can reconnect us to ourselves and each other. It’s about owning your space, listening to your body, and remembering that transformation often begins with a single step.
