Ep2 – Finding Your Village: Kat on Motherhood, Community & Combating Loneliness
Description
In this episode, I’m joined by Kat, mum of one and owner of The Mum Club Harrogate – a local franchise of the nationwide community creating safe, welcoming spaces for mums to connect, share, and feel supported. With monthly events tailored for expecting and new mums, Kat’s mission is simple but powerful: to help women feel less alone in one of the most life-changing (and often isolating) transitions.
We chat about Kat’s own experience of motherhood, what led her to start her franchise, and why community and connection are non-negotiables for maternal mental health. From navigating the shift in identity that comes with becoming a mum, to creating events where friendships are sparked over coffee and chaos, Kat offers wisdom, warmth and honesty.
We also talk about the myths of the “perfect mum,” the reality of postnatal loneliness, and why having just one person who truly gets it can make all the difference.
If you’ve ever felt alone in the fog of motherhood, this episode will remind you that your village is out there – and it might start with simply showing up.
