Description

Your eyes and ears are not deceiving you, there’s a new episode of Beyond the Pond! The battle against Phish myopia rages on. In Episode 114 we do a deep dive into the thirty minute, extremely wide-ranging version of Ghost from Nuremberg, Germany on July 3, 1997. Only the eighth Ghost ever played, Phish is more than comfortable giving it the epic treatment because they were basically capable of ANYTHING in July of 1997, and were already well aware that this song would become a set tentpole for years to come. We also do a brief analysis of Phish’s eight show Spring 2022 tour, discuss what we’re hoping to see on the soon to begin Summer tour, and run down some of our favorite recent albums from 2022.

Songs featured in this episode are:

Spiritualized: “Best Thing You Never Had (The D Song)”

Miles Davis: “Right Off”

Kikagaku Moyo: “Effe”

Brian Jackson: “Force of Will”

Hatchie: “Lights On”

Horsegirl: “Option 8”
