After a hiatus Shake Down The Numbers is back on the air to breakdown the excellent hiring of Marcus Freeman. (1:00 ) They begin by praising the hire, and discuss how landing Freeman over other quality suitors is a sign of how far the program has come under Brian Kelly. (4:32 ) Cooper then breaks down his new opponent strength adjusted EPA numbers (statistics nerd warning 4:32-5:50 ). (5:50 ) After unveiling the new model, they use the opponent adjusted stats to compare Freeman's run at Cincinnati directly to Lea's at Notre Dame.
