Nadia shares original sketches and swatches as well as incredible images from the finished jewel-inspired works of famed houses Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy and many more. We look at examples including the wedding gown of Farah Diba, Shahbanu of Iran. The House of Hurel, founded in 1879, has remained family owned and has been recognized by the French government as an Enterprise of Living Heritage for its role in French fashion, and Nadia explains how the house collaborates with fashion designers to generate “jewels” in embroidery. We take viewer questions throughout.
