Episode 25: Let's Talk about our Crushes...Fictional Character Crushes that is!
Description
Crushes can be pretty fun to have. You get to think about them all day, you can make up scenarios that involve them and you can even do fun romance quizzes hoping they will predict the possibility of a wedding with your crush. We've all done that, whether it be a crush on a normal person in our entourage or even a celebrity crush! But what about fictional characters? How would that be different from regular crushes? Unfortunately, it's not something a lot of us talk about so we decided to do exactly that!
In this episode, we are diving deep into the concept of developing crushes on fictional characters from books, movies, tv shows, cartoons, etc. We dish out on some of our recent crushes and many not so recent ones and try to explain how they affect(ed) our lives and how we deal(t) with them.
Hopefully, our discussion will trigger thoughts and memories about your own secret fictional character crushes so you can share them with us through comments or email. If you liked what you heard and can relate to the struggle of developing crushes too easily, then come back next Sunday for another fun episode.
Here’s a more detailed overview of what we talk about in this episode:
- Our recent crush from a kdrama and freaking out over some attractive kdrama characters
- John Locke: an unusually attractive character from Lost.
- How Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute from the Office grew on us
- Revisiting childhood cartoon crushes
- “Forget Lola Bunny... Look at Bugs Bunny!”
- Demystifying why we think more about fictional character crushes now vs. as a kid
- How we cope with crushes on imaginary characters
