Episode 27: Draining Negativity, Toxic positivity and Comforting Loved Ones
Description
These days, with everyone carefully inspecting the environment around them and their social circles, it seems like there is some form of toxic negativity all around us. We all want to avoid negativity in our lives, and with reason! Instead, we encourage positive thinking and good vibes. It’s all about spreading good thoughts and assuring others that they are capable of doing whatever they may be struggling with... But can this be “overdone”?
In this episode, we want to pause and figure out something quite thought-provoking: is there such a thing as toxic positivity? We share our own experiences where we witnessed toxic positivity in others. But that’s not it… We also do some introspection and reflect on how we ourselves may have been sources of toxic positivity in the past. And because a journey of self-growth and personal development is never ending, we couldn’t finish this episode without figuring out a solution to stop being those typical toxic positive people and figuring out how to become better at comforting people! Join us in this episode and listen to us think out loud and get deep about this topic.
