Update: 2025-07-29
Description
Golden Age OTR January 16, 2005
With the heat dome of 2025 hitting the US and other parts of the world, we thought we would flashback to January of 2005 (20 years ago) when there was snow in the forecast.
Long before our country music format, we had two previous formats that we have mentioned in the past. However we did play country music as an introduction to our listeners. Sometimes we played several selections, other times we didn't have the time. So here is one of those times.
This is a tribute to Cole Porter. He was American composer and songwriter. Many of his songs became standards noted for their witty, urbane lyrics, and many of his scores found success on Broadway and in Hollywood films. This was around the time the movie “De-Lovely” was released. A story about Cole Porter's life.
We did manage to sneak in a Johnny Cash song, “Hey Porter” at 50 minutes into the show.
