Episode 84: I Sure Do Feel Like Somebody's Orphan
Description
The Love Sweetie Podcast is a unique historical project that features real letters from Kathryn Frances Demaree Graham a.k.a. "Sweetie" that were written during her lifetime. These authentic letters are narrated and commented on by the hosts of the show (who give context on what is being discussed).
It should also be noted that the vernacular in the letters, as disclaimed at the beginning of every episode, are part of the real historic text from 1950, and do not reflect the views of anyone associated with the Podcast, including the creator and the hosts.
This episode features five pieces of correspondence from September 1950. We learn more about Sweetie and Lew going to local auctions around Philadelphia during that time period, and that they are both improving their knowledge of antiques. We get some more insight into Sweetie's relationship with Jeanne's boyfriend, Glen, and updates about the Graham family at this time.
The end of this episode also features an update on what was occurring in the Korean War in the latter part of September 1950.
