His area of study is Organizational Communication with an emphasis on leadership, power, and ethics. In 2016, he wrote Case Studies in Courageous Communication (Peter Lang Publishing). He has published original research in numerous peer-reviewed academic journals like Communication Monographs, Management Communication Quarterly, Journal of Applied Communication Research, and others. He earned his PhD in Communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
