We learn about their journey into entrepreneurship based on academic research centered around targeting diabetic retinopathy through the activation of PPAR-α (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha). Dr. Duerfeldt also dives into some of his work in deciphering molecular penetration of Gram-negative bacteria, overstimulation of bacteria to treat infections, and the interrogation of acyldepsipeptides.
