The CDC released a study on Firefighters being at higher risk for certain cancers compared to civilians. The NIOSH study is the most extensive and comprehensive review to date. www.cdc.gov/niosh/firefighters/ffcancerstudy.htmlThe study ran from 1950 through 2010. The study's primary bases were the Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco fire departments. The report showed conclusively that firefighters contract cancer at a far higher rate than the general public.
