Fashion Designer- Sonia Stradiotto
Description
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a fashion designer and have a brand that sells all over the country and the world?
Our mentor today is Sonia Stradiotto who is celebrating 35 years of being a fashion designer. She has dressed some of Australia’s most influential people, thrown the biggest fashion shows in the country and her style is pure glam.. sequins and sparkles, just like her personality.
But it has not been easy. Starting with a hole in the wall shop, sewing everything herself, this designer had no free pass and built her empire on her own, then the pandemic hit and no-one had anywhere to go to wear her designs. This didn't deter her, she pivoted and started an at home fashion revolution and inspired everyone to take the rubbish out in a ball gown, she was one of the few that came out the other side of the pandemic stronger than before
With a book and documentary coming out soon be inspired by Sonia's story of starting small to building a lasting legacy.
