They’ve spent years working to standardize how flight emissions are calculated and presented to travelers.

I wanted to understand how this all came together, how one organisation managed to get the industry aligned, and more importantly, whether it's making a real difference. So I spoke with Polly Lomas, Travalyst's Head of Strategy and Impact, and Alix Farr, a Senior Product Manager at Travalyst.

One thing that really stands out is the industry cooperation. Major players like Google and Skyscanner haven’t just signed on. they’ve helped lead. It’s a rare example of alignment across a competitive sector, and it raises a bigger question: Can other parts of the travel industry follow suit? And should they?
