"Forrest Gump" is a film that chronicles the life of a slow-witted but kindhearted and athletically talented man from Alabama. Born with a spine condition, Forrest's life is filled with various significant historical events. Despite his low IQ, Forrest leads a highly unusual life, and inadvertently influences key historic events from the '50s through the '70s, including the Vietnam War, Watergate, and others. Forrest adores his childhood friend Jenny Curran, who suffers from problems of her own. His devotion to Jenny and his friend Lieutenant Dan, his platoon leader in Vietnam who becomes a paraplegic, demonstrate the unconditional friendship, loyalty, and love in his character.
