Hazardous Weather Outlook. This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. Day one. Today and Tonight. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected over the mountains this afternoon, mainly over the higher mountains, eastern foothills, and in South Park. A storm or two may move into areas near the base of the mountains in the late afternoon and early evening. Some of the stronger storms will produce a period of heavy rain and small hail. Days two through seven. Friday through Wednesday. A warming trend will continue Friday with highs on the plains reaching the lower and mid 80s before scattered showers and thunderstorms develop in the late afternoon over the mountains and move eastward onto the plains during the evening. Some of the thunderstorms on the plains may produce severe weather with large hail and strong outflow winds being the primary threat. A cold front will push south across the area Saturday, which will cool temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below normal and bring a chance for showers. Sunday through Tuesday will continue to see below normal temperatures with a slow warmup expected Wednesday. Isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected each day, but the threat of severe weather will be low. Spotter information statement. Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight. Gimmestad/Danielson.
See you tomorrow!
