Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. Monday, a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Hazardous Weather Outlook. Slight chance of severe storms across the eastern plains of Colorado today. This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. Day one. Today and Tonight. Scattered thunderstorms will develop over the mountains around the noon hour and then spread across the plains through the afternoon and evening. A few of these storms may become severe with large hail up to 2 inches in diameter along with damaging winds to 70 mph. Moisture levels will continue to increase today and along with warmer temperatures, will result in a very unstable atmosphere. Thunderstorms will diminish towards midnight. Days two through seven. Monday through Saturday. Monday will have a similar stormy afternoon and evening with scattered thunderstorms, and a few severe storms expected again, though the area shifting eastward. The area with the best chance of severe storms will be along and east of a line from Sterling to Akron to Limon. The main hazards will be large hail and damaging gusty winds. The mountains will have the same coverage of storms, but at weaker strength. Tuesday and Wednesday will continue the diurnal thunderstorm pattern, but with weaker storms. Thursday and Friday will dry out and warm up. The near to above average temperatures through the week will accelerate the snowmelt in the high country and will increase the flow in streams and rivers. Be careful near rivers as their levels rise. Spotter information statement. Spotter activation will likely be needed after 2 pm across the northeast plains of Colorado.
