Friday Family Film Night: SALEM'S LOT review
Description
On night 9 of our #31DaysToHalloween the Mister joins me in reviewing SALEM'S LOT (2024), from writer/director Gary Dauberman, the film is based on a novel by Stephen King. Author Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) returns to his childhood hometown of Jerusalem's Lot to write a new novel about the notorious Marsten House, coinciding with the arrival of mysterious antique dealer Richard Straker (Pilou Asbæk) and his unseen partner, Kurt Barlow (Alexander Ward). As people in the small Maine town begin to disappear and turn into bloodthirsty vampires, Ben and a small group of locals realize an ancient evil has taken root in the Marsten House. They band together to try and stop the accelerating plague of undeath before Barlow's influence consumes the entire town. The film clocks in at 1 h and 54 m, is rated R and we watched it on HBO Max. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review.
