The week in sports kicked off with chaos and drama across the NFL and MLB. The Bengals stunned the Steelers on a last-second FG, with Flacco and Rodgers lighting it up, though Rodgers lost it when an offensive lineman tackled him mid-celebration. Gio slammed the league’s weak defenses, warning anyone can beat anyone, while the Broncos struggled returning from London. MLB action saw the Blue Jays even their series 2-2 with a Vlad homer, the Dodgers keep winning without Ohtani, and Scherzer refusing to leave the mound as the Brewers fall 3-0. Off the field, Cashman fired back at Jeter and A-Rod’s digs at the Yankees, the Mets debate Pete Alonso’s future. Jets face pressure this week with Justin Fields needing to deliver against the Panthers, and NFL QBs once again flop in New York only to shine elsewhere, much to Boomer’s amusement that the Giants gave Dart time to watch before playing.
