Funkier Sounds Episode 144 - Phonk D Guest Mix
Update: 2024-10-08
Description
My hour was OK this time, but unhelpfully my decks crashed! Doesn’t happen often but it happened this time, so we had a little bit of awkward silence while I did a quick reboot. I could’ve edited it out but I decided to keep it in… it’s live radio, baby - it is what it is! Once we were back in action these was time for some funk, disco and boogie, a bit of housier stuff and a lovely epic finish.
For the second hour I was thrilled to hand proceedings over to Phonk D - talented producer, DJ, label head and owner of a mighty fine moustache. Dirk came to my attention about 6 years ago with his awesome First Choice edit that was being played everywhere for a while, and which I played in the first hour of this show. His mix is a wonderful meander through mellower vibes taking in the likes of Mr Scruff, cranking up the pace a little bit towards the end. A very nice mix it is too!
