Furthermore, the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria is highlighted as an example of natural selection.Β 

The rapid reproduction of bacteria, coupled with mutations, leads to resistant strains when exposed to antibiotics.Β Surviving bacteria pass on their resistance, creating new lineages.
