There’s a general principle in life that before you can go out and help others, you have to prepare yourself first. If you want to be a school teacher, first you have to learn your subject. If you want to participate on an athletic team, it starts with getting yourself into condition. Today, Pastor John shows how that same principle is applied in Jesus’s Beatitudes. First, you become poor in spirit, you mourn, you’re meek, and you hunger for righteousness. Then, God can use you as His instrument of mercy.
