Today's guest is Luma Alsamari, student at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. Luma joins me today to discuss how and why she chose this field in high school, on navigating undergrad, and on currently pursuing optometry in graduate school. We go through the graduate curriculum for aspiring optometrists, what the industry can offer once you graduate (and the difference between an optometrist, opthamologist, and optician), and what high school students can do to prepare themselves better to choose the right career path.
