How and Why you Should Start a Podcast

Today I want to chat with you on how and why you should start a podcast. There are so many reasons why you should and it really is a lot easier than you think, you just have to have the proper training and tools.

There are three reasons why I believe you should start a Podcast.

Either you are just starting out in your new career or side hustle,

Or you have a Blog already and are considered a Blogger,

Or you have started your new career, you have a Blog and you need more traffic.

You might be a combination of these or you might just fit into one of those areas just mentioned. Wherever you are, it's a good idea to add a Podcast for the following reasons.

What does a Podcast do for you?

It elevates you as an Influencer.

It drives amazing traffic to your website.

It gives you more opportunities to connect with your potential customers.

You meet some amazing people.

You get interviewed on other shows.

Those are the main reasons, but there are many others too.

We have talked about why you should start a Podcast and I hope you are starting to realize you should or maybe you are going to take some time to think about it now. Great, that is why I have put this show together today.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you, my Podcast story. When I started in the Online World almost ten years ago, I never thought about being a Podcaster, I didn't even listen to Podcasts. "What the heck is a Podcast?" I started as an Interior Designer, Real Estate Investor, and later opened up my own Boutique. The interwebs have changed in so many ways since I began but never in a Million years did I think I would have my own Podcast show. Last year, I hired a Coach and took my first online course and I started doing a lot of online marketing research. I basically took one year and just learned.  As I was learning, I discovered Podcast's and absolutely loved them. I was completely obsessed. I listened when I was getting ready in the morning, I listened at my office, and I listened when I was exercising. I discovered Pat Flynn and John Lee Dumas.  As you probably know they are Podcasters with a huge following. I learned all I could from them about everything, then one day I thought, "Wow, I could have my own show. I could reach my audience and teach what I have learned and also interview other Entrepreneurs, Designers, Bloggers, Content Marketers, and Realtors® and/or Brokers."

In business sometimes your journey takes you to places you would have never dreamed of. Now, the only thing about doing a Podcast show was , how and when and how would I learn to do this?! This is where I did my homework. I started researching equipment, software, and a website host.  I am not going to lie to  you, I was overwhelmed and it took me about three months to have enough guts to jump in. I did it, and now you can listen to me twice a week. I do a solo show once a week and I do an interview show once a week.
