Goal setting: Reflect on how you would like your relationship to change and what is stopping you from achieving this.

Week 2 Finding your voice:

Learn techniques to distinguish between your thoughts and your mother's critical voice.

Identify and challenge deeply ingrained beliefs about yourself that stem from your upbringing.

Practice mindfulness techniques to connect with bodily sensations and emotions associated with different voices (yours vs. your mother's).

Week 3 Releasing the burden of never feeling good enough

Explore how feelings of inadequacy were instilled and reinforced by a narcissistic mother.

Learn techniques to validate your own experiences, feelings, and achievements without seeking external approval.

Week 4 Accepting your mother

Examine how holding onto unrealistic expectations for your mother can hinder acceptance and contribute to ongoing frustration and pain.

Engage in exercises to mourn the loss of the ideal mother you never had, allowing space for acceptance of the mother you do have.

Week 5 Releasing your mother's hold on you

Recognize and understand the emotional and behavioral triggers that keep you tied to your mother’s influence.

Learn techniques to reclaim your personal power and autonomy, separating your identity from your mother's control.

Week 6 Grieving the mother you needed, but never had

Explore the stages of grief and how they apply to mourning the mother you never had but needed.

Identify and articulate the specific emotional, physical, and psychological needs that went unmet due to your mother's narcissism.

Week 7 Healing your inner child

Explore and identify specific younger parts that hold significant memories, emotions, or experiences from your past.

Establish a mental and emotional safe space where your younger parts can feel protected and loved, encouraging healing and integration.

Week 8 Integrating your voice

Create a plan for how to incorporate your authentic self into daily life, including strategies for maintaining boundaries and self-care routines.
