Teryl Austin gave a little look into how the sausage is made with the defensive play calling. He confirmed that he calls the plays, but Mike Tomlin has plenty of say in it as well. The notion that it’s a myth about Tomlin calling the plays isn’t true. It’s Tomlin’s defense, but Austin gets to simply ‘call’ most of the plays. We discussed differing reports from people who cover the team.
