How to deal with Loneliness.
Description
We often walk past and ignore lonely people all the time, Isn’t it strange how the older we become the wiser we get, though it can be struggle to make new friends especially when we move to a new city or a new country.
I know people who have joined surf clubs to make friends and it just never happened!
They have been volunteers for years with not a single invite to a BBQ or to the pub for a drink!
The older we get the less willing we seem to allow new people into our lives.
If you are suffering from loneliness:
- You have a 29% increased chance of having a heart attack and a
- You have 32% chance of having a stroke.
- Suffering from loneliness has been compared to smoking 15 cigarettes a day and is more dangerous than being an alcoholic.
I found, especially since all the lockdowns, people are still not socialising like they used to.
We are social beings. Humans when left alone get sick. I have even heard that when a baby is born, if it is left without any human contact or bonding, will most certainly die.
A great way to attract people into your life is:
- Every time you come across someone just put out your hand introduce yourself.
- Ask them for their name.
- Then, use their name to ask them a question about themselves.
People love it when you show interest in them!
And if you are stuck on your own around Christmas, then Volunteering is a great way to feel needed and be around people for a good cause.
